Mom's room is finally straightened up enough to open the door for them. I just put up a bunch of pics from the last few days and will worry about explanations later. Note the U Of Chgo Rockefeller Chapel blanket I put on the bed. Those who know know and for those who don't it doesn't matter.
Their universe has more than doubled and they're FLYING back & forth between the 2 rooms. They now have 40' to get up a head of steam, only had about 17' before.

Jaynie's wound healed rapidly and is all better now. She has a follow-up with Dr. Hines on the 14th. My major concern right now is she's eating like a pig and has a huge belly - almost like when she had 7 kittens inside. Kittens are fully weaned now but they sometimes still try to nurse. However, there's nothing there for them as Jaynie has dried up. They get Fancy Feast kitten food every 2-4 hrs and there's always Purina ONE+ dry kitten food, which they like. Below are pics of a "screen door" (actually chicken wire) I cobbled together and installed at the end of the hallway so I could let them out of the bedroom where they were born and I've been holding them prisoner. That room is around the corner to the right. To the left is the master bedroom. It was my mother's room and I've been keeping it in mostly pristine condition since 2008. I've stored empty boxes & coolers there and recently moved parts of the bed and other crap from their birth room in there.

Took Jaynie to Boone yesterday. She has a severe infection and open wound on her lower belly. Fever was much better, only half what it was. Dr Hines drained & cleaned the wound, and gave her a shot of convenia antibiotic, and another of onsior. Gave me onsior tablets to give once a day. She said to isolate J from kittens, cuz nursing could be deadly. So I strung a tennis net across her bedroom (pic later) so J & kids can still see each other and interact. I also have to apply a warm compress often to keep it from drying up. I'm sooo tired - more later

Kittens arrived the night of April 17-18

Actually, I trapped her. A carrier was right by the door and I'd been trying to get her into it.
She wandered in next to it, and as soon as her tail tip cleared the door, I slid it shut.
She freaked and started jumping high up the door. She eventually calmed down and I spent
the next day or two finding her hiding places until she got comfortable running around the house.
When it seemed birth was imminent, I sequestered her in a back bedroom.
Now she has a non-stop purr machine and will NEVER EVER go back outside or be hungry again.

I took this flyer around to all my
neighbors within a coupla blocks.
3/11/25 2:49am Jaynie sharing the heated water bowl with a raccoon.
She got along well with coons out there. She'd apparently been accepted
as part of their family - playing with them, rubbing up against them.
And when she'd whack one on the nose, they didn't retaliate.

Jaynie spent the winter sleeping on these heating pads
